What is a Veterinary Surgeon?

Ashlee Bonar, Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)

Ashlee has worked in veterinary medicine for almost 20 years. Born and raised in Iowa, Ashlee grew up with a small zoo at home ranging from dogs and cats to iguanas and rats! This experience helped encourage her love of animals. She completed her degree in Nebraska before moving to Arizona.

Ashlee has been a CVT since 2004 and has experience in multiple specialties, including surgery, emergency/critical care, and neurology. Her true passion, however, is with surgery and anesthesia.

Ashlee currently lives in Gilbert with her fiancé, two beautiful daughters, 1 dog, and 1 cat.

Andrew Savicky, Surgical Assistant

Andrew always had a love for animals but became interested in the veterinary field after watching his brother (Dr. Roman Savicky), complete his training to become a veterinarian.

Andrew has been working in the field for over 17 years at the same hospital that Dr. Savicky once worked at as a veterinary assistant. Andrew has been a kennel assistant where he not only helped with general hospital cleaning, but he also was involved with cleaning, sterilizing, and wrapping of surgical instruments. Andrew would also assist with dental or surgical procedures when needed. Additional duties included care of boarded animals as well as assisting doctors and technicians with patient examinations and treatments. "I feel like I learn something new every day, and that's what I love most about my job".

In his spare time, Andrew enjoys watching anything that involves cars, especially his favorite car, a 1964 Impala SS. Andrew also has a dream to drive the entire Route 66. At home, Andrew enjoys his time with his 2 dogs Muscha and Rascal.
